Vital Signs—smart city, living city

Vital Signs encapsulates three different forms of engagement tailored according to the representations of alternative, possible, and plausible design futures for Geelong.
This digital exhibition is comprised of Deakin University student projects undertaken within the Urbanheart Surgery studio program. Students experimented with different ‘what if?’ scenarios informed by the City of Greater Geelong’s Planning Strategy team, including the Clever and Creative Corridor planned for Geelong’s Northern and Western Growth Areas, future visions relating to Central Geelong and the town centres of Belmont and Waurn Ponds. The display will be presented next to Eugene von Guérard’s View of Geelong 1856, reflecting the dramatic transformation of the surrounding landscape over the past 160 years.
