Artist statement:
Harvest consists of three brooches in the shape of a grain of rice, bean, and lentil.
They are made from those food waste and treated and turned into bioplastic with added preservative. A silver brooch back is attached from below.
The work is a celebration of the artist’s childhood and joyful nature of food. It also questions the sustainability of farming and the climate crisis we face today.
