Artist statement:
The world is currently in terrible shape: climate change, new mines opening for fossil fuels, and war. These problems are undeniably linked. If we were to cut these links, we could hopefully slow down the earth’s decline and live on a more inhabitable planet.
Screenprinting has a long history of political commentary in the Australian landscape. As a printmaker I think it’s my duty to say something, and screenprinting is the perfect medium for dissemination. A variant of this edition has also been printed on poster paper and postered in Melbourne, Sydney & Limerick (Ireland).
