Artist statement:
This work began from reflecting on Aboriginal songlines and the importance of the Australian landscape, its history and the need to help it heal. The craftism of sewing threads into the screen printed images deals with an unravelling of the past and healing for the future. The work was made using screen printing and sewing appliqué methods. The process of making banners using mostly recycled materials and fabrics stemmed from concern with human consumption and the hope for rejuvenation of our planet.
