Artist statement:

I’m always drawn to these tiny flowers that grow at the bottom of fences at just about every second house between my home and studio. When I made this painting I was listening to a fantastically sentimental love song, 14 days by Reckonwrong. The lyrics go- ‘What I wouldn’t give for fourteen more days, fourteen days of happiness’. Painting these flowers at an all-encompassing scale in a sun-drenched pallette made me think about the exquisite itchiness of summer and love longing.
