Alchemy—Material Transformations

until Sunday 7 February 2027

  • Entry included with Discovering the Impressionists exhibition ticket

Alchemy brings together over 50 small sculptures and decorative arts objects from the Geelong Gallery Collection. Created by 28 artists and artisans in a variety of materials including stone, bronze, wood, glass and plastic, the exhibition explores the transformative process of artmaking—where raw and found materials are reimagined into expressive forms. From seventeenth- and eighteenth-century European etched glass to contemporary 3D-printed sculpture, the works in this exhibition celebrate artists’ enduring fascination with material experimentation.
