Discover the history of Geelong Gallery, it’s role within the community and key works from the collection.

Geelong Gallery was established in 1896 by twelve passionate Geelong citizens who believed Victoria’s second-largest and fastest growing city deserved a dedicated arts institution. Since this time, a key priority of the Gallery committees, boards and management has been to build a major collection of art for the people of Geelong.

This video provides an introduction to the Gallery’s collection, which now contains over 6000 items including Australian and European paintings, works on paper, silverware, decorative arts, sculpture and moving image works.
